WHY SO MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING VEGAN: FOOD IN AMERICA

VEGAN REVOLUTION: FOOD IN AMERICA

OUR HEALTH IN CRISIS

I'm sure many of you have heard about the Vegan movement around the world, I'm sure its influence has even hit your own family or town. It is so popular with the millennials at this point that it is now even considered "trendy"... but what is leading to such a revolt from the Meat and Dairy industry?
I believe it to be a rise in curiosity towards our Health & Wellness.
I myself have been unexpectedly hit with the idea of going Vegan. I (an avid meat lover) have been hassled by my friends to watch these documentaries which investigated our food in America. After much hesitation, during one bored night at my apartment, I Netflixed, and chilled... which led to startling realizations about my daily consumption of food, and how it may have a negative impact on my overall well-being. After watching one film, I began obsessively seeking more information and it led me to quit animal products the next day COLD TURKEY. Successfully done so for about 2 months, and continue to incorporate vegan eating into my day to day diet.

One thing I noticed immediately after going Vegan was that my lifelong struggled with acne almost completely disappeared, only about a week/ two weeks into my diet change. I also noticed my Eczema completely subsided. I believe acne to be a leading side effect due to daily over-consumption of hormones.

I would highly suggest that you watch the documentary film on Netflix "What the Health" it definitely played a vital role in me making my decision to go Vegan. Also "Cowspiracy" or "Food Inc." and "Forks Over Knives"
Our meat and dairy industry have been knowingly poisoning Americans for years through the use of all the chemicals, antibiotics, and growth hormones used in production. All through time leading to negative impacts on our health. It is even believed through studies that Meat & Dairy may correlate with the uprising of diseases like Diabetes, MS, Alzheimer's, Heart Disease, and Cancer...
Let's not even discuss the "Pink Slime Fake Meat" that was found in TONS of meat across America and specifically in McDonald's which caused a spike of controversy surrounded the speculations towards the authenticity of meat found in many fast food restaurant chains.

Dairy is another topic in and of itself. Dairy is breastmilk. Breast milk is for the early development of a baby while undergoing its growth process. That being said it is FULL of growth hormones. After we are grown there is no need for such a highly hormonal concentrated intake. So not only are we the ONLY species that takes breast milk from another animal but we include it in almost every meal we eat; cheese, milk, yogurt, cream cheese, sour cream, ice cream, etc...  It also released dopamine into our brain which creates an addictive nature towards our relationship with dairy.
WE ARE CONSUMING ALMOST NOTHING BUT GROWTH HORMONES FOR EVERY MEAL through Meat, Eggs, & Dairy.
Now let's talk Veggies... Each vegetable has a medicinal property whether its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial etc. Every fruit or vegetable has a medicinal benefit that will positively impact our health. Unfortunately, our crops here in America are also under siege. I'm sure many of you have heard of Billion/Trillion dollar corporation Monsanto. They are oppressing our nation's agriculture and restricting our nation's farmers with rules and regulations. One of which is to get the seeds for your crops from them, the other is to spray the crops with a highly toxic herbicide RoundUp

I also investigated what exactly a GMO is, and I believe it not to be the problem. Genetically Modified can actually benefit the stability and survival of our crops, although they tend to enlarge and lessen the true taste of what it may have been naturally. Natural and untouched is obviously always better. The issue being Monsanto Genetically Modify the crops so they will survive the spraying of this toxic herbicide. So this herbicide will ONLY kill the weeds surrounding the crops, and not the actual crops themselves. If that isn't worrisome, I'm not sure what is!?
There is also a case where it is to believe that Monsanto is poisoning and killing organic crops using the already wildly talked about conspiracy- ChemTrails.
As I've learned more about Veganism I have found cases where people who suffered from some horrible or life-threatening diseases, went completely vegan and their health issues dramatically turned a 180. Becoming healthy, and even cured.
Check out this article from Men's Health about a man who claims going Vegan helped cure his cancer.
A woman who claims a plant-based diet cured her chronic pain.

Veganism is growing rapidly around and the world. A report, titled Top Trends in Prepared Foods in 2017 was prepared by research company GlobalData and shows the explosion in veganism over the last 3 years. It cites a growing awareness of the impact of meat consumption amongst consumers who are increasingly looking for more ethically produced and environmentally sustainable foods.

I didn't even touch upon how unethically these animals are encaged, treated, and slaughtered. Living a very horrific and daunting life. I'm not sure if the energy of the animals may be transmitted to us when we eat them, but I would not be surprised if so. Meaning a happy cow may taste better and have a more positive effect than a cow that lived a life in fear and captivity. We should have a regard for the well-being of ALL life, not just human lives but also the well being and lives of these animals.
In 1998 a highly controversial case hit the mainstream media, for many Americans this was their first exposure inside the hidden world of American Beef.

Oprah Winfrey was sued by the American Beef & Cattle corporations for showing audiences across America what it is truly like inside the four walls of a slaughterhouse, and what really goes on to get that burger on your plate. She won the case. and after Oprah's investigation into this topic, she stated publicly...
"'It has just stopped me cold from eating another burger! I'm stopped!'' -Oprah

Why is the truth behind what process our food goes through, and where it comes from such a mystery? Why are people who speak out being sued and vilified?

There is a revolt in healthy conscious eating. Through dietary education, and mindful eating we are beginning to think twice about what we are consuming.  The younger generations first to jump on the bandwagon, and trying to talk others into following. It's like a new generation of dietary missionaries knocking from door to door!

I will say one thing when transitioning from an animal product to plant-based diet;

You must eat more! Cutting out meat, you must eat more often and be sure to eat enough starch, carbs, and plant protein!

I'll say it again MORE PLANT PROTEIN! Cutting out meat from your diet your body still needs the protein! Which you can get plenty of through eating; beans, peas, hummus, etc...

I believe we know that McDonald's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner will have horrible repercussions upon our health later down the road.

As your parents always said...

"EAT YOUR VEGETABLES FIRST!!!"

UNTIL NEXT TIME...

NAMASTE
